ITAG Conference
I attended an ITAG conference in Des Moines with 2 other TAG teachers on Monday and Tuesday. There were 400 TAG educators at the conference and we were fortunate enough to hear many talented speakers and attend 7 different learning sessions. It was a very inspiring conference. I learned about things like Mock Trial, Invent Iowa, Future City 4000, and Academic Decathlon. We are already implementing Mock Trial at both the Junior High and the High School and Invent Iowa at the Junior High, but I learned more information about the programs and how to be more effective. I am looking forward to implementing Future City 4000 at the Junior High in the school year of 2011-2012 and hopefully Academic Decathlon at the High School in the near future. If you are a 7th grade student, and you think you might be interested in Future City 4000 next year, please stop and visit with me. It involves using Sim City software to design a futuristic city and then building a complex, scale model of a city 150 years in the future. Exciting!
